Duck Magnet Made from an Old Lid

These magnets are a great "green craft" to do with children.  You can re-use old bottle lids and scraps of felt or paper.  The ducks are easy to make but you can also make aliens or little farm animals.

You will need:

Old bottle lids

Glue

Glitter

Scissors

Felt

Round magnets

Googly eyes

Step 1.

Brush the lid with glue and sprinkle on some glitter.

Step 2.

Turn the lid over and glue the magnet into the back.  You may need to stack two magnets.  Cut two wings and glue them to the back of the magnet.

Step 3.  To cut the beak, fold a small piece of felt in half.  Cut out a triangle.  Then cut a smaller triangle out of the middle of the triangle.  (See the red piece of felt.)  When you open the felt, it will look like a bird's beak.
Step 4.  Glue the beak on the little duck.  Finish by adding two eyes.  The magnet is ready to go on your fridge!

Just a few folds, and you have a cup. It is perfect for holding candy or flowers. You can even use it for liquid if you use a water proof paper.
